Odisha bagged one gold, two silver and one bronze in the 10th Youth, 51st Men & 27th Women Junior National Weightlifting Championships held at Railway Indoor Auditorium, Yamuna Nagar, Haryana from January 16 to 24, 2015. Odisha also emerged youth boys team champions, garnering 462 points.
Odisha won both medals in boys` 50kg category. Srikant Mallik won the gold medal in boys` 50kg clean and jerk, while Jagdeesh Nahak secured the bronze in the snatch event of the same weght category.
In junior women 75kg category, Subhasmita Mohanty won one silver medal each in snatch (75kg) and total (167kg). Pramila Kirsani emerged best lifter in girls’ category.
