Media-XI continued to reign supreme in the Tata Steel Friendship Cricket Tournament by winning the title for the fourth successive time in 8th edition of the annual event at East Coast Railway Stadium here today. Media XI rode on impressive performances by Subhrashu Padhi and Faizal Ali to thrash arch-rivals Bureaucrats XI in the final by five wickets.
Earlier in the semifinals of the one-day tournament, featuring four teams, Bureaucrats XI hammered Legistors XI by nine wickets, while Media XI trounced Tata Steel XI by 10 wickets. Faizal Ali bagged the prizes as the man of the tournament and best bowler, while his teammate Subhrashu Padhi pocketed the prize as the best batsman.
Rashmi Ranjan Nayak (Tata Steel XI) and S Ramaswamy (Bureaucrats XI) were named as the best fielder and man of the final match respectively.

Final: Bureaucrats XI 82/6 in 12 overs (Ramaswamy 32; Faizal Ali 2/10) lost to Media XI 83/5 in 10.2 overs (Subhranshu Padhi 31, Faizal Ali 20; Manoj Chhabra 2/15) by 5 wkts.
Semifinals: Legislators XI 55/4 in 10 overs lost to Bureaucrats XI 56/1 in 8.1 overs (Manoj Chhabra 31) by 9 wkts.
Tata Steel XI 56/10 in 9.5 overs (Sandeep Mishra 2/3, Faizal Ali 2/5) lost to Media XI 59/0 in 7 overs (Manoj Mohapatra 15 n.o) by 10 wkts.
