Odisha women emerged overall champions, bagging two gold and one bronze medals in the 25th Junior National Rowing Championship, which concluded at Avadh Water Sports Club in Lucknow (UP) today.
Sanjukta Dung Dung and Manjula Xess won one gold in coxless pair, while the other yellow metal was captured in coxless four by Manisha Kispotta, Pricila Buxla, Sanjukta Dung Dung and Manjula Xess. N Monika Devi claimed the bronze in the single scull event.
A 10-member Odisha squad, comprising five women and three men, participated in all four women`s events of the six-day championship was held for 1000 meters on Gomti River. Dronacharya Awardee Jose Jacob and Regunanth Singh accompanied the squad as coach and manager.
Odisha Association for Rowing & Sculling president Binod Dash and secretary general Amarjyoti Singh Deo congratulate the rowers for their success.
