Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India, will be the principal partner for the staging of the 35th Champions Trophy Men`s Hockey Tournament here at Kalinga Stadium Hockey Complex from December 13 to 21.
This was announced by State Sports Department Secretary Saswat Mishra after a meeting with Hockey India CEO Elena Norman and partners of the eight-nation tournament here on Tuesday.
``MCL will be the principal partner, while Tata Steel and Nalco will be associate partners. Besides, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) will be the medical partner. Matters related to advertising and publicity rights of the partners was discussed in the meeting,`` the Sports Secretary said.
According to inside sources, MCL would contribute Rs 4 crore as principal partner, while associate partners Tata Steel and NALCO would provide Rs 1.5 crore each. Four star hotels were also identified in the day for the accommodation of the players.
