Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) today felicitated four woman hockey players of Odisha for helping India win the bronze medal in the Junior Women Hockey World Cup last year in Germany.
Chariman-cum-Managing Director A N Sahay and Director Technical (Project & Planning) J P Singh handed over cash award of Rs 1 lakh each to Namita Toppo, Lilima Minz, Anupa Barla and Deep Grace Ekka (in absentia) on the occasion at MCL headquarters here.
Congratulating the players, Sahay said their achievements are a result of the hard work they have put in during practice and hoped that they would bring more laurels to the country as well as to their home state.
The CMD also wished the players the very best for next month`s Asian Games in South Korea for which they will leave for Patiala on August 13 for training/selection. Expressing their gratitude, the players thanked Mahandi Coalfields for encouraging and supporting the sports fraternity.
