Odisha suffered a nine-wicket defeat on the fourth and last day of their Plate-B Cooch Behar Trophy U-19 cricket match against Delhi at Delhi today. Batting failure, especially in the second innings proved to be the main reason for the defeat as Odisha folded up for 135, losing the last six wickets for only 23 runs. Delhi pace bowler caused maximum damage to the Odisha’s batting line-up, bagging all these six wickets for 38 runs. Delhi knocked off the required 44 runs for victory in 12.3 overs.
Earlier, Delhi gained a 92-run first-innings lead by making 298 in reply to Odisha’s modest total 206. One positive thing that happened in the match from Odisha point of view was a half-century in the first innings by Sidharth Sinha. Odisha will next meet Assam at Golaghat from December 8 to 11.
