Rasrajpur men and Hamirpur Sports Training Centre women emerged champions in the 11th Rural Hockey Tournament that concluded here at the Biju Patniak Hockey stadium earlier this week. In the finals, Rasrajpur village edged out Veteran Club 1-0, while Hamirpur STC prevailed over Kukuda village 2-0.
A whopping number of 82 teams, including eight in women’s category, participated in the fortnight-long tournament, which was organised by Rourkela Steel Plant.
RSP Executive Director(Personnel & Administration) Dipankar Basu, Director (Medical &Health Services) Dr B B Rao and AGM (Sports) Minati Mohapatra gave away the prizes at the closing ceremony.
