Priyadarsini Indira Mahavidyalaya (PIM), Junagarh and BJB Junior College (Bhubaneswar) won the girls and boys team titles respectively in the Plus-Two Inter-College Badminton Tournament, which concluded at DRIEMS Sports Complex, Tangi (Cuttack) today.
In the finals, PIM beat Saraswati Vidya Mandir (Damanjodi) 2-0, while BJB Junior College trounced Vikash Junior College (Bargarh) 3-0. Individual crowns in boys and girls categories were claimed by Debashis Mishra (Rajdhani Junior College) and Chumki Bhanja (PIM, Junagarh) respectively.
Former India woman football captain Sradhanjali Samantaray handed over the trophies in the presence of DRIEMS chairman Pramod Chandra Rath. Thirteen players from this tournament were selected to represent Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha, in the National championship to be conducted by School Games Federation of India.
