Rutvi, Sivadeep slaim CS singles crowns

Gujarat girl Rutvi Shah and Andhra Pradesh boy Sivadeep Kosaraju won the singles titles in the the AITA-OTA Championship Series Under-16 Tennis Tournament, which concluded at Steel Club courts in Rourkela today. Top seed Rutvi faced stiff fight against third seed Odisha`s Koyal Mishra before winning the girls` singles final 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. The Gujarat lass, who claimed the doubles crown with Mishra earlier on Wednesday, thus clinched a double.

In the boys` singles final, fifth seed Sivadeep upset top seed Odisha`s Avilash Mishra 6-3, 6-4. Bhubaneswar lad Avilash partly compensated his singles defeat by winning the boys` doubles title with his S S Tennis Academy partner Nishant Kumar. In the marathon final, they fought back from a set down to beat statemates Adarh Sahoo and Nishant Mohanty 2-6, 6-0, 10-4.

Police DIG (Western Range) R K Sharma handed over the trophies at the closing ceremony. Rourkela Steel Plant Executive Director (P&A) Deepankar.Basu, Central Excise Assistant Commissioner Bijay Kumar Nayak, Tournament Referee Prabin Kumar Nayak and members of host Rourkela Tennis Association were present on the occasion.
