Riaz Khan and Lakhi Swain helped Bhubaneswar Golf Club (BGC) clinch a creditable double in the Ranchi
Amateur Golf Tournament, which was hosted by Ranchi Golf Trust in association with Jharkhand Golf Association at Ranchi Golf Course in Ranchi on October 5 and 6.
Riaz emerged champion in the men`s 0-18 handicap category, while Lakhi took the top honour in women`s section (0-36 handicap). Around 130 golfers from Shilong, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Patna and Ranchi took part in the 18-hole tournament.
This was the fourth title outside Odisha for 49-year-old Lakhi, who won her earlier three titles at Jamshedpur in 2007, Mumbai in 2011 and again at Jamshedpur earlier this year. Apart from winning the women`s title at the, Lakhi claimed the prize for the longest drive in the Ranchi tournament with an effort of 259.5 metres.
