Local favourite Avilash Mishra completed a creditable double, winning both the singles and doubles titles in the boys’ category of the AITA-KDTA Talent Series Under-14 Tennis Tournament here at Bhubaneswar Club today. Top seed Mishra, who won the doubles title with his SS Tennis Academy partner Nishant Kumar, claimed the singles crown, trouncing second seed Nishant Kumar in the final 6-1, 6-1.
Odisha youngsters asserted its supremacy in the four-day tournament, making a clean sweep of all three titles. Earlier, top seed Koyal Mishra claimed the girls` singles title, defeating second seed Bhavya Ramineni of Andhra Pradesh in the final 6-2, 6-4.
Winners in all three categories secured 15 AITA ranking points each, while the runner-up gained 12 points apiece. Finance Department Additional Commissioner Damodar Pradhani handed over the trophies at the closing ceremony.
