Bhubaneswar-based cricket club Pragati Sportings celebrated its Golden Jubilee in style at KIIT Convention Hall here today. Cricket luminaries, including former India captains Ajit Wadekar, Dilip Vengsarkar and Rahul Dravid, eminent coach Vasu Paranjape, cricket writer Vijay Lokpali and Odisha Sports Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi graced the glittering function as guests.
All the guests paid glowing tribute to coach Kishore Mania, who has been the heart and soul of Pragati Sportings since its inception. Club president Ranjib Biswal, secretary Nilesh Bohidar threw light on the performance and achievements of the organization on the occasion.
Odisha’s international cricketers Shiv Sundar Das Debasis Mohanty, Sanjay Raul, Madhuri Meheta, Rasanara Parbin, Pankaj Bhue, Mohammad Jaffer Iqbal, Sukhram Majhi; junior internationals Sritam Das, S R Satpathy and first-class cricketers Amiya Ray, Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra, Basant Mohanty, Jagannath Das, Chiranjib Biswal and Sanchayan Sahani were felicitated on the occasion.
