Hosts Gujarat secured three points by virtue of taking a 123-run first-innings lead against Odisha in their four-day Cooch Behar Trophy (U-19) Plate Group-A match, which ended in a draw at Shastri Maidan in Anand today. Odisha settled with one point.
Electing to bat, Odisha rode on a century Subhranshu Senapati (139, 317b, 12x4, 2x6) and his 203-run stand for the fifth wicket with Priyatosh Paramanik compile a healthy total of 317. Paramanik slammed 83 (260b, 11x4). In reply, Gujarat declared their innings at 440 for eight.
Gujrat skipper Akshar Patel scored a big hundred (168, 234b, 23x4, 1x6) and compiled 203 runs for the fifth wicket with V Choudhary, who scored a half-century. In the second innings, Odisha were 138 for four when both captains agreed for the draw. Odisha will play their fifth and last league match against Assam at Cuttack from December 29 to January 1.
