Odisha Police won the trophy in the 9th Choudwar Cup State Level Football Tournament, defeating East Coast Railway 8-7 in the final via tie-breaker at OTM High School ground in Choudwar (Cuttack) today. Tie-break rule was applied after play in the regulation time ended in 2-2 draw. S Pradhan, Mohammad Ahsan Khan (both Odisha Police); Seikh Mustakim and Babaji Pradhan (Railway) scored in the regulation time.
The champion team pocketed a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and the runners-up Rs 20,000. Hadibandhu Majhi and Mohammad Ahsan Khan of Odisha Police were adjudged as the man of the tournament and man of the final match respectively.
