Local teenager Pramod Rana clinched a double by winning titles in men`s doubles and junior boys singles categories of the State Badminton Championship, which was held at J N Indoor Stadium in Cuttack from September 16 to 18, 2011.
Manas Ranjan Routray, also from Cuttack and Neela Saswata (AG Orissa) emerged champions in men`s and women`s singles categories respectively. The junior boys` crown went to A Babu and Akash Nanda, while the top honour in junior girls` singles event was claimed by Rutuparna Panda (Cuttack).
Nalco Director (Vigilance) Dr P K Mohanty handed over the trophies in the presence of host Orissa State Badminton Association secretary Pradip Mohanty. Over 200 shuttlers from 12 districts and four institutions joined the three-day championship, which was inaugurated by Orissa Olympic Association secretary Asirbad Behera.

Men`s singles: Manas Ranjan Routray (Cuttack) bt Chitta Ranjan Satpathy (Bhubaneswar) 21-18, 21-18.
Men`s doubles: Pramod Rana-K Manoj Kumar bt Kamal Das-CR Satpathy 21-19, 21-20.
Women`s singels: Neela Saswata (AG Orissa) bt Monalisa Mohanty (Bhubaneswar) 21-14, 21-7.
Junior boys` singles: Pramod Rana bt Soumen Sekhar Das (RSP) 21-15, 21-11.
Junior boys` doubles: A Babu-Akash Nanda (Balangir) bt AR Khan-D Negi 16-21, 21-13, 21-15.
Junior girls` singles: Rutuparna Panda (Cuttack) bt Monalisa Mohanty (Bhubaneswar) 17-21, 21-9, 21-9.
