Nine from Orissa find berths in Indian women`s football team

All India Football Federation today named a 23-member women`s National team, including nine from Orissa for a three international friendlies against Bahrain to be played at the Al Ahli Club Stadium in Bahrain on September 17, 20 and 23.

Ace Orissa striker Sasmita Mallik has already been named captain of the National team. Other eight Orissa players in the team include Suprava Samal, Sita Sharma, Bijayalaxmi Sahoo, Swarnamayee Samal, Supriya Routray, Rashmita Patra, Pinky Bompal Magar and Alochana Senapati. The team earlier underwent a training camp under head coach Mohammad Shahid Jabbar (also from Orissa) in Lucknow for the tour.
