Double crown for carrom player James Pradhan

James Pradhan bagged a double by emerging champion in both singles and doubles categories of the All-Orissa Open Carrom Tournament, which concluded at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack today. Pradhan beat Trinath Behera in the singles final 2-1 and then combined with Kamalakanta Patnaik to defeat Trinath Behera and Suresh Behera 2-1 in the doubles title clash.

Khurda Road lived up its reputation as the nursery of carrom in Orissa as players from the town made a clean sweep of the final berths in the two-day tournament, which was hosted by Cuttack District Carrom Association. Eminent dentist Dr Rabi Ranjan Sahu gave away the trophies and cash prizes at the closing function.
