Rising Students Club emerged champions in the 3rd Mangala Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, defeating Juvenile Club in the floodlit final by eight runs at Sunshine ground in Cuttack today. Depak Behera, Biplab Samantary, Bikash Pati (all Rising Students); Jayant Behera (Juvenile) and Dinesh Mohanty (Puri Pioneer) were adjudged as the man of the final match, man of the tournament, best batsman, best bowler and best fielder respectively.
Barabati MLA Debashis Samantaray, Orissa Cricket Association secretary Asirbad Behera gave away the trophy and prizes at the closing function. The tournament was organised by Jhanjirimangala Kishore Club.
Brief scores: Rising Students 150/9 in 20 overs (Deepak Behera 62, Bikash Pati 43; Jayanta Behera 3 wkts, Samson Sahu 2 wkts) beat Juvenile Club 142/5 20 overs (Deepak Kanungo 45, Tukuna Sahu 35; Biplab Samantry, Bibhudutta Panda 2 wkts each).
