Orissa weightlifters returned home today, garnering 19 medals in the 6th Youth National Championship, which was held at Yamuna Nagar in Haryana from January 2 to 4.
Medals included nine gold, seven silver and three bronze. The medallists returned home on January 7.
According Orissa Powerlifting Association secretary Narayan Sahu, the state girls squad emerged team champions with 15 medals (756 points).
Among the girls, Pramila Kirsani was adjudged the best lifter, bagging three gold medals in 53kg weight class. She lifted 69kg in snatch, 87kg in clean and jerk for a total of 156kg.
