Four league matches fetched 46 goals in the the 2nd Six-a-side Floodlight Hockey Tournament at Kalinga Stadium here today. Panposh Sports Hostel, SAIL Hockey Academy (both Rourkela) and South Central Railway (Hyderabad) registered their second successive wins brighten chances of entering the semifinals.
Arvind Barla became man of the match for the second time with three goals, which helped Panposh Sports Hostel beat SAG Center, Sundargarh 6-1 in the last match of the day. SAIL Academy rode on Amit Kerketta’s brace to get the better of East Coast Railway 6-3. International Innocent Kulu struck thrice to power the Hyderabad side to a 5-1 victory over Orissa Police.
Cuttack Sports Hostel got off to a roaring start, mauling Kalinga Institute of Social Science (Bhubaneswar) 23-1. Alsem Lakra scored seven goals to be adjudged the man of the match.
