Orissa witnessed the launching of its first indoor shooting range at Utkal Karate School campus in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. The modest range with facility for 10-metre air-rifle and pistol shooting was inaugurated by Planning and Coordination Minister A U Singhdeo in the presence of Agriculture Minister Damodar Rout and Sports Minister P C Bhanjadeo.
ββThe range has five machine-operated targets and offers training facility in break-barrel and numatic air rifle/pistol shooting for amateurs and compressed air-rifle/pistol for advance shooters,ββ described school secretary Hari Prasad Pattanayak.
The range, which is equipped with six air-rifles and three pistols, will function daily from 6.00 am to 7.00 pm. Premanand Sahoo, the current best shooter of Orissa, will provide coaching along with Ashish Nayak and Balabhadra Das.
