Rising Students (Cuttack) pipped Rameswar Sporting (Bhubaneswar) by one run in the thrilling final to emerge champions in the 27th Biren Palai Memorial All-India Cricket Tournament at Charampa in Bhadrak today. U B Group General Manager Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi gave away the trophy and a cash prize of Rs 20,000 to the winners and Rs 10,000 to the runners-up at the closing ceremony.
Debapriya Patnaik (Rising Students) and Deepak Mangaraj (Rameswar Sporting) were adjudged as the man of the match and man of the tournament respectively. The tournament was organized by United Club.

Rising Students: 189 for 9 in 35 overs (Debapriya Patnaik 63, Rajesh Sethi 29: Rajesh Mohapatra 4/33) beat Rameswar Sporting: 188 all out in 34.3 overs (Prashant Bhoi 50, Debrata Malya 26: Prakash Panda 3/21, Suryakanta Pradhan 2/42, Roshan Swain 2/24).
