Saraswati, Prashant are best police athletes

Saraswati Chand and Prashant Patnaik emerged as the best female and male athlete respectively in the 62nd State Police Sports Meet, which concluded at the Reserve Police ground in Cuttack today. Around 600 athletes from 35 units vied for medals in the four-day meet. OSAP 6th Battalion (Cuttack) men and Rourkela women lifted the team championship, while Commissionerate Police (Cuttack-Bhubaneswar) finished runners-up in both the categories. S N Sahoo and R R Gandua emerged as the fastest man and women respectively. Other prominent title winners included Dushmant Kumar Nayak (marathon), Manoj Hembrum (decathlon), S L Munda (10,000m and 5,000m). Police DG Manmohan Praharaj handed over the trophies at the closing function.
