Padmini bounces back with successive wins

Orissa WIM Padmini Rout posted successive wins to occupy the 16th place with two points at the end of third round of the World Junior (U-20) Girls Chess Championship at Puerto Madryn in Argentina today. After a losing start, Asian Junior champion Padmini beat Natasa Bucar (Slovenia) and Milena Herrera (Columbia) in the second and third rounds to share the joint third place 10 others, including fellow Orissa WIM Kiran Manisha Mohanty. Kiran, who started her campaign on winning note, experienced mixed luck in the next two rounds as she lost to WGM Soumya Swaminathan (India) and then beat Sabrina Reginato (Italy) to be placed 15th.
