Opening batsman Sumitosh Praharaj hit a sparkling century (127) to help host Orissa post an eight-wicket win over Assam in a league match of the East Zone Vinoo Mankad Trophy U-19 Cricket Tournament at Cuttack today. Praharaj, who hit an unbeaten 91 in the previous match against Bengal, faced 134 balls for his 127, which included 13 fours and two sixes.
Abhilash Mallick was another outstanding performer for Orissa, hitting an unbeaten 74. It was his second successive half-century in the tournament, the earlier being an unbeaten 54 against Bengal two days ago. For Assam, Shiv Roy waged a lone battle, scoring an unbeanten century. Jharkhand crushed Tripura by 70 runs in another league match of the day.
