Dandu Soren of SAI Training Centre (Cuttack) and Asrita Kujur of Orissa Police won the men`s and women`s titles in the Biju Patnaik Mini Marathon here on Tuesday.
SAI Centre trainee Saunru Soren and local Sports Hostel inmate Dutee Chand emerged champions in under-18 boys and girls categories respectively. The top honours in veteran male and female sections went to Prasanta Kumar Patra and Latarani Das respectively.
The 11-kilometre-long run, featuring around 2,000 competitors was flagged off by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Urban Development Minister K V Singhdeo and Sports Minister Debasis Nayak gave away the cash prizes, amounting to a total of Rs 2.18 lakh.
Dandu and Asrita received Rs 12,000 each, while winners in junior and veteran categories were given Rs 7,000 each. The event was organised by State Sports and Youth Services Department.
