State kickboxers dominate amidst chaos

Disorder became the order while host Orissa continued to show its domination, bagging eight gold, four silver and four bronze medals on the second day of the National Kickboxing Championship at KIIT University campus in Bhubaneswar today. Though the All Orissa Kickboxing Association boasted of organising three National (sub-junior, senior and veteran) simultaneously, it was practically not possible for both the public and the media to know what event was conducted at time and where. There was no order in the schedule and no information about results. Organising officials seemed more interested in pleasing the guests than conducting the championship in a disciplined manner. As far as results were concerned, it appeared as if only Orissa kickboxers were winning medals. Orissa medallists: Gold: Susanket Mishra, Barkha Mohapatra, Niladri Nihar Nanda (two each): Suprava Jena, Saini Chakraborty (one each). Silver: Sulagna Gouda, Anupama Jha, Amitanshu Panda, Suravi Sarangi. Bronze: Yuvraj Harichandan, Jitu Nayak, Barun Mohapatra, Siddharth Sahu.
