When National cricket board gears up to introduce a Corporate Cup Cricket Tournament in September, can its affiliated Orissa unit stay silent? Cricket Association (OCA) to day announced to introduce similar event for state corporate houses in January next year.
The first OCA Corporate Cup Cricket Tournament, to be played under lights on Twenty20 format, has created another scope for the richest sports body of the state to swell its coffer further. In order to lure the corporate house, OCA also announced that participating teams will be given an opportunity to buy tickets in corporate boxes on concessional rate for future One Day International matches at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack.
Interested corporates houses have been requested to confirm their participation by August 31. Meanwhile, the BCCI has allotted three matches of the All-India Corporate Tournament to Orissa. OCA will host these matches on September 1, 2 and 3.
