Delhi men, Goa women win baseball Fed Cup

Delhi men and Goa women emerged champions in the 7th Federation Cup Baseball Tournament, which concluded at Ravenshaw University ground in Cuttack today. Host Orissa finished runners-up in both the categories. In the finals, Delhi won 6-0 and Goa 2-0. DOUBLE FOR ORISSA: Orissa, however, bagged a double by winning both the titles in the 6th East Zone Baseball Championship, which was conducted simultaneously at same venue. In the finals, Orissa men crushed Bihar 6-1 today, while their women defeated Manipur 2-1 yesterday. Baseball Federation of India secretary P C Bharadwaj, Orissa Baseball Association secretary Sibanand Pradhan and Ravenshaw University vice-chancellor Debdas Chhotray gave away trophies at the closing function.
