The final match of the State Inter-School Cricket Tournament at Baliyatra ground in Cuttack tomorrow is expected to be an exciting contest with defending champions Sundargarh Public School taking on local favourites Sayeed Seminary School.
In the semifinals today, the Sundargarh school defeated Mahavir High School, Kapasi (Jajpur) by 52 runs, while Sayeed Seminary trounced Government High School, Burla (Sambalpur) by 202 runs.
Sayeed Seminary batsman Debapriya Patnaik and his teammate Benu Patra cornered the day’s glory with the former hitting a century (116), the second in the tournament and the latter scalping six wickets for 20 runs.
