Reigning champions Sundargarh, Orissa Police, Angul and Dhenkanal completed the semifinal line-up of the Nalco Cup State Hockey Championship at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack today.
In the quarterfinals, Sundargarh decimated Deogarh 15-0, Orissa Police overcame Sambalpur 3-1, Angul upset Rourkela Steel Plant 3-0 and Dhenkanal got the better of Cuttack 3-0.
Bijay Ekka (24th minute), Sudarshan Kiro (53rd) converted a penalty corner each, while M Ekka (68th) scored a field goal to complete the tally for Orissa Police. Sambalpur scored their only goal through a penalty corner convertion by G Dungdung in the 43rd minute.
Sunil Kujur scored a brace for Angul, who got their third goal through Sunil Toppo. The three goals for Dhenkanal were struck by Ignetious Toppo, Panchu Kujur and Rabindra Kujur.
