Nishant Biswal and Khalid Sultan caused upsets by defeating fifth seed Satyadeep Das and sixth seed Mihir Vora in the second round of the first CSA All-Orissa Open Snooker Tournament at the Cue Sport Academy in Bhubaneswar today.
Das lost in straight frames to Nishant Biswal, while Khalid Sultan posted a hard-fought 3-2 win over Vora.
The winners were joined in the pre-quarterfinals by third seed Subrat Das and eighth seed Sureet Singh.
Das registered a convincing 3-0 victory over Shivam Nag. But Sureet survived several anxious moments before defeating Ankit Bhousinka 3-2.
