Orissa`s most promising boy Ansu Kumar Bhuyan stormed into the singles semifinals of the Asian Under-14 Tennis Tournament, posting three wins in a row at Gomti Nagar in Lucknow today.
According to information received by his coach Ajay Nishank, fourth seed Bhuyan crushed compatriot Dhruv Goel 6-1, 6-1 in a quarterfinal clash.
Earlier, he started his campaign with 6-0, 6-2 victory over Puskar Singh and followed it with a 6-3, 6-0 win against Dhruv Agarwal in the second round.
In the semifinals, Bhuyan will meet Anvit Bendre. Ranked 55th in the continent (as on March 9), Bhuyan had finished fifth in the Asian under-14 tournament last week at Bhubaneswar after being beaten by Jude Raymond in the quarterfinals.
