Orissa prevailed over Goa 1-0 in a quarterfinal league match of the 17th Senior National Women’s Football Championship at Neyveli, Tamil Nadu today.
Thunki Munda struck the all-important goal in the 56th minute. With this win, their second in the quarterfinal league, Orissa ensured themselve a berth in the semifinals.
Despite the team`s victory, Orissa Women`s Football Association, the women`s wing of Orissa Football Association continued to criticise the performance of international players, especially Pinky Bompal Magar.
Orissa play their last league match against host Tamil Nadu on March 11.
