Local favourites Lakhi Swain and Brig Narayan Nayak won the ladies and seniors titles respectively on the opening day of the 6th Nalco East Zone Golf Tournament at Bhubaneswar Golf Club course in Bhubaneswar today.
Altogether 40 golfers, including 10 ladies and 14 seniors (above 60 years) participated in a 14-hole stroke play handicap game.
Competition in main handicap categories, featuring around 70 golfers from Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Orissa will take place on Sunday.
Results:
Ladies: 1. Lakhi Swain (nett score 52), 2. Kim Na Hyun (nett score 58).
Seniors: 1. Brig Narayan Nayak (NS 58), 2. Debi Prasad Mishra (NS 61).
