State Sports Hostel pipped Orissa Police 4-3 in the final to win the 9th Birla Tea Cup Cuttack Premier Football League at Reserve Police ground in Cuttack today.
The match was decided via tie-breaker after play in the regulation time ended goalless. The hostel side received the top prize of Rs 25,000, while the police team became richer by Rs 15,000.
Satish Ekka, Saroj Pradhan, Rudra Karali (all Hostel), Bidur Jani and Avimanyu Pande (both Police) were awarded man of the final, best goalkeeper, best defender, best mid-fielder and man of the tournament respectively. Police DG, Manmohan Praharaj gave away the trophy at the closing function.
