City to host Indian Open kickboxing

The second Indian Open National Kickboxing Meet will be held at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, from December 18 to 21. Sanctioned by Indian Association of Kickboxing Organisations (IAKO), the meet will be hosted by All Orissa Kickboxing Association (AOKA) in association with Pumas International and Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar. Around 1,200 participants from across the country are expected to vie for medals, IAKO life president D N Padhi said at a media conference in Bhubaneswar today. A budget of Rs 9 lakh has been estimated for the conduct of the meet. The National federation has committed an assistance of Rs 3 lakh for the purpose. IAKO founder president S S Harichandan described Indian Open as the true open National kickboxing competition for all martial arts organisations in India, irrespective of any style or system.
