Chinmaya Routray of Bhubaneswar and Mohammad Ashraf of Cuttack emerged junior and senior champions respectively in the State level school chess tournament, which concluded at Ranihat High School, Cuttack, today. In the eight-round tournament, Chinmaya (DAV School, Pokhariput, Bhubaneswar) scored 7.5 points, while Ashraf (Stewart School, Cuttack) secured seven points.
Consumer Affairs Director and Weights and Measure Controller Sibabrata Dash graced the closing ceremony as chief guest and gave away the prizes. International Master Sekhar Chandra Sahu, Orissa State Chess Association president Kumud Kumar Nath and host Cuttack District Chess Association secretary Bibek Tibarewal were present on the occasion.
