Samartha, Asif achieve title hat-tricks

Bhubaneswar lass Samartha Prusty Cuttack lad Asif Haque emerged as two most promising paddlers of the state with each achieving a hat-trick of titles in the All-Orissa Open Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, which concluded at Ispat Indoor Stadium in Rourkela today. A ninth-standard student of St Xavier School (Khandagiri), Samartha won her three titles in sub-junior, junior and women`s singles events. Asif clinched his `treble` in sub-junior singles, doubles and junior singles. Asif`s family achieved another creditable feat in the tournament with his two elder brother, Tausif and Tohid emerging champion and runner-up respectively in men`s singles. Anuska Nayak and Pranab Sachin claimed the remaining two of the nine titles in cadet girls` and boys` singles respectively.
