Unit-I High School retain trophy

Defending champions Unit-I High School pipped Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) 1-0 in the final to retain the trophy in the 18th Kalinga Marine Bibekananda Memorial Bhubaneswar School Football Tournament, which concluded at the Unit-VI High School ground in Bhubaneswar today. Jitendra Hembram scored the all-important goal in the 46th minute to help Unit-I High School win the tournament for the fourth time overall. Tapoban High School secured the third position, defeating DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, 2-0 earlier in the day. Rajya Sabha Member Pyari Mohan Mohapatra and Income Tax Commissioner Trailokya Jena gave away the trophy and prizes at the closing function. Striker Jitendra Hembram was awarded both as man of the match and man of the tournament. Madra Murmu (Tapoban HS), Karunakar Marandi (KISS) and Sipu Padhi (Unit-VI HS) were adjudged best goalkeeper, best mid-fielder and best defender respectively.
