East Coast Railway has bagged four gold and one silver in the All-India Inter-Railway Boxing Championship held at Jabalpur recently.
According to a release from East Coast Railway today, their women`s team finished runners-up, securing two golds and a silver. N Usha and Sailaja claimed yellow metals in feather and bantam weight categories respectively, while the silver was secured by Ch Kanak Durga in the light-fly weight class.
The men`s team also did well with K Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh securing a gold each in light-fly and bantam weight categories respectively.
The railway zone`s General Manager Ajay Kumar Goyal congratulated the boxers and announced a cash award of Rs 20,000 for their success.
