Chand Club prevailed over new entrants Anchalika Sports Association 2-1 in the opening First Division match of the Cuttack Football League at the Reserve Police ground in Cuttack today.
A goal each by Sujit Soren (21st minute) and Budhu Soren (47th) put Chand Club in a commanding position before Anchalika Sports Association reduced the margin through P Senapati in the 72nd minute.
Earlier, the league was inaugurated by Orissa Olympic Association secretary Asirbad Behera and Orissa Police sports Officer Prasant Kumar Padhi.
