Hadi Dhangada Majhi, a member of the under-14 boys`` rugby team of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) has bagged the Sir Edward ``Weary`` Dunlop Award for his impressive performance in the recent invitation series played in Australia.
The award has been instituted in the memory of the eminent Australian rugby player Sir Edward, KISS officials said. The Bhubaneswar-based school team, comprising only tribal boys, won the eight-match series 6-2.
Hadi Dhangada, who belongs to Bonda tribe of Malkangiri district, won many hearts by displaying fine skill and athleticism in all the matches. His teammate Sahadeb Majhi was adjudged the player of the series. KISS founder Dr A Samanta congratulated the duo for their success.
