Young woman rower Mamata Jena has been selected to receive the 15th Ekalabya Award for the year 2007. The award committee unanimously chose Jena among 13 shortlisted candidates at a meeting held here on Wednesday.
The Cuttack-based rower will be given a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and citation at a function to be held later.
Besides Jena, women`s National `B` chess champion Kiran Manisha Mohanty and promising athlete Dandu Soren were picked for the year`s two runner-up awards, which carry citations and Rs 10,000 each.
