All India Football Federation has included six players from Orissa in the National team for their two matches of the Asian women’s qualifying football championship against Iran to be held next month. They are: Gitanjali Khuntia (Cuttack), Pinki Bompal Magar (Jharsuguda), Sasmita Mallick, Alochana Senapati (both State sports hostel), Prasanti Pradhan (Bhubaneswar), Gayatri Mallick (Kendrapara).
According to Orissa Football Association, two among the six have found opportunity to make international debut. The six were chosen from among seven Orissa players, who attended the National camp held at Chennai earlier in September.
Only player, who failed to make it to the National squad was forward Sukumati Laguri. India will play their two matches on home-and-away basis with the first at New Delhi on the October 20 and the last in Iran two days later.
