Rising Student Club (Cuttack) emerged champions in Hi-Tech Premier League (HPL), defeating Rameswar Sporting Club (Bhubaneswar) by 10 wickets in the final at Hi-Tech Medical College Ground here today. Hi-Tech Group chairman Dr Tirupati Panigrahi handed over the trophy at the closing function.
The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and the runners-up side Rs 25,000. Hi-Tech Premier League, featuring two categories of tournaments was organised by Hi-Tech Trail Blazer Cricket Club from April 15. One tournament (T20) was played among leading clubs of the state, while the other (15 overs) was conducted among medical colleges and educational institutes.

April 16: Saheed Sporting 84/10 in 20 overs (Rashmi Ranjan Parida 18; Debapriya Pattnaik 3/6, Jamela Bhanjan Mohapatra 2/17) lost to Rising Student 85/1 in 14.4 overs (Alok Sahoo 51) by 9 wkts. MoM: Alok Sahoo.
April 18: Biswabharati Club 111/10 in 20 overs (Sameer Mohanty 31, Rashmi Ranjan Das 24; Md Akram 3/20, Ayaskanta Sahoo 3/22; P Gobind 2/30) lost to Rourkela Youth Cricket Club 113/8 in 19.4 overs (Partha Samal 2/21, R R Rout 2/27) by 2 wkts. MoM: Md Akram.

April 19: Rourkela Youth Cricket Club 130/5 in 20 overs (Asish Mitra 47, Prayash Thakur 26*, Aniket Rout 20; Tapas Das 2/21) beat Mukteswar Cricket Club 92/10 in 19.2 overs (Pratik Das 27, Anurag Sarangi 27; Ayaskant Sahoo 4/16, Satyajit Sabat 3/12, Prayash Thakur 2/10) by 38 runs.
