Rising Star Club of Cuttack pipped Kishore Club (Bhubaneswar) 5-4 in the final, via tie-breaker to win the 23rd Sarat Tripathy Memorial Floodlight Football Tournament at Sayed Seminary School ground in Cuttack today.
Shoot-out rule was applied after play in the regulation time ended in a 1-1 draw. Budhuram Soren gave Kishore Club the lead before Gyana Ranjan Samal equalised for Rising Star. The champion side received the a cash prize of Rs 7,000, while Rs 5,000 was given to the runners-up side. Higher Education Minister Samir Dey, Transport Minister Jaya Narayan Mishra, Orissa Olympic Association secretary Asirbad Behera and host Chand Club life president Sayed Mustafiz Ahmed gave away the trophy at the closing function.
