Jagdish pockets Bhusandpur chess title

Puri boy Jagdish Barik emerged champion in the 6th Bhusandpur Chess Tournament, which was organised by Bhusandpur Chess Centre at Kalyan Mandap, Bhusandpur, Khurda on January 14 and 15, 2017. He received a cash prize of Rs 2,000, scoring 6.5 points out of a possible seven.

A total of 86 players are from 11 districts participated in the below-1600 rating tournament. All Odisha Chess Association secretary K K Sarma handed over the prizes in the closing ceremony. International arbiter Suresh Chandra Sahoo, Bhusandpur Chess Centre president Subash Chandra Patra, secretary Deepak Kumar Patra were present on the occasion.
