Rising Student Club emerged champions in the Inter-Club Knock-out Tournament, defeating Union Sporting Club in the final by 26 runs at Barabati Stadium here today. The champion team received a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and the runners-up side were given Rs 10,000.
OCA joint-secretary Sanjib Kumar Dutta handed over the trophy in the closing ceremony. OCA media manager Anjan Kumar Khuntia, CEO Bidyut Kumar Nayak, cashier M A Ahad and chief co-ordinatior Daniel Rout were present on the occasion.
Earlier in the semifinals, Rising Student outplayed Royal Club by six wickets, while Union Sporting edged out Biswabharati by eight runs. The tournament, featuring a total of 19 matches, was organized by Odisha Cricket Association at different grounds here from April 15. The 19 matches produced 11 half-centuries and six hauls of four or more wickets in an innings.
