Delhi rode on a half-century eachy by captain Gautam Gambhir and Milind Kumar to beat Odisha by five wickets in their Group C league match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy Tournament at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi today.
Put into bat, Odisha made a decent total of 225 for nine, thanks to a half-century by captain Natraj Behera and a 47 by former captain Biplab Samantaray. Host Delhi overhauled the target with 21 balls to spare. Middle-order batsman Ranjit Singh and off-spinner Subham Nayak made their List A debut for Odisha in this match.
This was the second defeat in three matches for Odisha, who earlier lost to Maharashtra by 40 runs after beating Vidarbha by three runs. They will next meet Baroda tomorrow.
